What We Believe...
OUR MISSION…To fulfill the great commission (Luke 24:46-47, Matthew 28:19). We are committed to presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ to every person in our community and beyond.
OUR VISION…To be a thriving church of growing Christians who are becoming more like Jesus, sharing their faith with others, and impacting Richland and the world for Christ. We believe that a vision of soul winning is the heartbeat of God and we must share that same heartbeat. Our vision is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, so whether you’re seeking God for the first time or you are longing for a deeper relationship with Christ, you are welcome with us. CORE BELIEFS Scripture: The Bible, in its original manuscripts, is the inspired word of God and it reveals the will of God to the human race. The Holy Scriptures are the final authority in matters of faith and truth.GOD: There is one God who created all things. In order to save us, God became man. Jesus Christ was God in flesh, Emmanuel — God with us (Matthew 1:23). Jesus Christ was both God and man. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16). We believe in the complete deity of our Lord Jesus Christ and in His supernatural conception and virgin birth. We believe He lived a sinless life and died a vicarious and atoning death. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His future return to this Earth in power and glory to rule and reign forever. Salvation: The only salvation available to the human race was purchased by Jesus Christ at Calvary. The work of Calvary consists of His death, burial, and resurrection. Since the work of Calvary consists of dying, being buried, and rising again, Jesus called this plan being born again. He then declared that being born again was essential for entrance into the kingdom of God (John 3:1-5). We teach that the new birth experience is comprised of repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. This is the New Testament pattern for all believers to follow as a result of their faith in Christ. (Acts 2:38; Luke 13:1-5; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:5-6; Acts 2:4; Acts 19:6; Isaiah 28:11) The Gospel: The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ came to establish His kingdom on earth. Miracles: We believe that God’s power is still active in the church and that healings, signs, and miracles are available through faith in Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 13:8; 1 Corinthians 2:4;1 Peter 2:24; Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10) These miracles include restored lives, mended hearts, renewed minds, healed bodies, and deliverance from alcohol, drugs, and a life of promiscuity. When the Spirit is flowing, healings are present. Resurrection: Those who have been born again and have lived a life submitted to the lordship of Jesus Christ will be resurrected immortal at the time of the Second Coming of Jesus and will rule and reign with Christ in His kingdom (Revelation 5:9-10). Eternal Judgment: Those who reject the gospel of Jesus Christ will be resurrected to appear at the great white throne of judgment. Even as the saved receive eternal life, the lost will receive eternal damnation. |
